The carpet upstairs is crap. It was newish when I got the house 18 years ago. But that was 18 years ago. (Gah. Has it really been that long?)
We didn't really like having carpet. We wanted hardwood floors. And if you're doing the floors, that means you have to empty the room out. And if the room is empty, you might as well repaint. And if you're repainting, you might as well do other things. Because that's the logical time to do it, right? Right?
So we're looking at flooring, and Lovely Wife discovers this thing called paper floors. Hmmm. MUCH cheaper than wood. If you screw it up, you can just rip it out and do it over again. Looks nice. OK, let's do that then.
We play musical rooms. Move Moira into Gwen's room. Do Moira's room. Move both girls into Moira's room. Do Gwen's room. We move into Gwen's room. Do our room plus master bath remodel. Move back into our room, then do the study/office.
