(July, 2010)
A few months back, I put in for a couple weeks of vacation. I mentioned to Wendy that we could do a road trip.
"Where are you wanting to go?"
"I was thinking Yellowstone".
"Sounds good to me!"
That was pretty much the extent of our planning. The big day arrives, we pile the kids into the car, toss a tent into the trunk, and off we go. We had a really great time. It was an awesome trip.
Of course, we didn't drive straight there. We made a few stops on the way.
Part 1 - Texas, New Mexico |
Part 2 - Colorado, Wyoming |
Part 3 - Grand Teton National Park |
Part 4 - Yellowstone - Critters |
Part 5 - Yellowstone - Hot Springs |
Part 6 - Yellowstone - More Hot Springs |
Part 7 - Yellowstone - Scenery |
Part 8 - Colorado |
Then we went home. Total mileage: 3887.3. The dog was so happy to see us she lost bladder control. It was great fun. I want to go back already. The comment has been made that maybe a bigger car would be better next time. Things got a bit cramped in the Prius. Maybe a minivan. Maybe a minivan towing a trailer. Maybe an RV. Yeah.
So we get back from this 3887.3 mile road trip. We don't do anything the next day. The day after that, we go see a movie. We come out of the movie, and find one of the tires had gone flat. Turned out the valve stem had torn somehow. Impeccable timing.
